A group of devices consisting of a component or components which are sensitive to radioactivity or free nuclear particles, together with associated electronic circuits and housing. In the presence of the intended radioactivity or free nuclear particles, the component(s) and electronic circuit produce an electronic pulse or current flow that is made available to other system components. Does not include meters or indicators. Excludes: PROBE, RADIAC.
