A system which is the principle air control agent responsible for the direction and control of air operations directly supporting the ground combat element. It is used in conjunction with the COMMUNICATIONS-AIR SUPPORT CONTROL SYSTEM by performing the airborne mission. The system must be able to interface with current and planned command and control systems and is specifically designed to be mounted within an aircraft.
