An item designed to accelerate a gas turbine engine from rest to starting speed by means of gas generated by combustion of fuel and air in a combustion chamber, and thrust directly on the engine turbine through an impingement nozzle mounted in the turbine section. Consists of a combustion chamber, air and fuel system components and igniter. May include the starter tube and/or impingement nozzle.
