11단계로서 각각이 3mm 돌출부와 1/2인치 표면을 가진 단계식 쐐기와, 그 쐐기에 고 정된 공구강핀 위에서 회전하는 황등회전상단으로 구성된 복합품목이다.쐐기는 대조를 위하여 눈금 매겨져 있고 도선이 장착된 천공구멍이 있다.이 품목은 방사선 장비의 출력을 검사하는데 편리성과 정확도를 기하기 위하여 사용된다.

A combination item consisting of a step wedge that has eleven steps, each having a 3 mm rise and 1/2 inch surface, and a brass spin top, which spins on a tool steel pin locked to the wedge. The wedge is calibrated and has drilled hole loaded with lead for comparison purposes. This item is used for convenience and accuracy in checking output of radiographic equipment.
