A thick-walled steel tube having a lock on one side and firing powder-gas pressure accelerated bolts, shot charge carriers with metal powder, chips, sand, gel, water, and the like at unexploded explosive ordance (UXO), improvised explosive devices (IED) or other unsafe ammunition with the objective of locking the firing device of the ammunition, interrupting initiated arming sequences or rendering the ammunition safe in some other way. The device is not hand-held. Pertinent distances to the object are specified in accordance with the charge carrier involved.
