A spring made from prestressed strip of material that coils tightly around successive layers of itself. The outer end may be specially shaped for attachment. The inner end is usually square cut and free to rotate over a pulley or roller. The coils are formed to remain in a coiled position without expanding. Excludes:SPRING (1), SPIRAL, TORSION.
