보다 높은 변동이나 일정한 유입 압력에 관계없이 폐쇄된 시스템 내에서 미리 설정한 압력 한계 이내로 자동적으로 유지하기 위하여 고안된 밸브이다. 과도한 압력은 시스템을 통과하지 않고 축압기 또는 저장용기로 우회한다. 이 품목은 주로 냉장 또는 공기조절장치에 사용하기 위하여 설계되었다. "밸브, 조절용, 유압식" 및 "밸브, 구경유출용"은 제외한다.

A value designed to automatically maintain within close limits a predetermined pressure within a closed system regardless of the higher fluctuating or constant inlet pressure. The excess pressure is by-passed to the accumulator or reservoir in lieu of passing through the entire system. It is designed primarily for use in refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Excludes:VALVE, REGULATING, FLUID PRESSURE and VALVE, CALIBRATED FLOW.
