훈련 목적에 사용되는 품목으로서 조준, 겨냥 및 소총의 가늠쇠 조절 방법에 대한 지침을 제공한다. 일반적으로 직사각형 모양의 판지 조각 또는 유사한 재료로 구성된다. 각 면은 명확한 기능을 갖는다. 일반적으로 소총의 뒷면 가늠자를 통해서 볼 때 전면은 전면가늠쇠와 표적의 흑점을 모사하기 위하여 고안되었다. 표적의 흑점과 전면 가늠쇠는 정확한 가늠쇠의 상을 제공하거나 또는 공통적인 결함을 나타내기 위하여 수동으로 조종할 수 있다. 후면은 수정 량을 보여주기 위하여 수동으로 조작할 수 있는 편차 및 고저의 조정을 위한 눈금이 있다.

A training aid used for giving instructions in sighting, aiming and method of adjusting sights for rifles. Generally consists of a rectangular shaped piece of cardboard,or similar material. Each face has a definite funtion. Usually the front face is designed to simulate the front sight and a target bull's-eye as viwed through the rear peep sight of a rifle. The bull's-eye and front sight can be manually manipulated to give a correct sight picture or to demonstrate common errors. The rear face has graduations for windage and elevation adjustments which can be manually manipulated to demonstrate degree of correction.
