“비금속제 채널”로 제작한 품목으로서 ⑴ 조인트가 있거나 없는 특수 모양으로 만들 수 있고, ⑵ 특수한 모양으로 만들기 위해 양 끝을 서로 고정한 하나의 조각일 수 있으며 ⑶ 특정 용도에 맞게 끝을 절단하거나 이어서 정해진 길이로 제작한 곧은 품목일 수 있다. 주형으로 만든 모서리, 끝 절단면 및 설치용 구멍, 홈, 압력 끼워맞춤 버튼 등을 제외한 품목은 단면이 연속적이어야 한다. 이 품목은 섬유질이고, 굵은 끈이며 또한 금속으로 보강되었다. 이 품목은 연결한 부품간에 상대 운동이 없는 곳에 사용하기 위하여 특별히 설계되었다. “개스킷”; “그로밋, 비금속제” 및 “패킹, 성형식”은 제외한다. 끝의 절단면이 정사각형이면서 설치용 구멍, 홈 또는 압력 끼워맞춤 버튼이 없는 곧은 품목에 대해서는 “비금속제 채널”을 참조한다.

It may be (1) formed to a specific shape with or without joints, (2) a single piece whose ends have been secured together to form a specific shape, or (3) a straight item fabricated to a specific length for a specific application with end cuts or joints. Items except for molded corners, end cut(s), and mounting facilities, such as mounting hole(s), slot(s), press fit buttons, and the like, must be one continuous cross section. It may have fabric, cord, or metal reinforcement. It is specifically designed for use in applications where there is no relative motion between joined parts.
