이 장치를 통과하는 공기에서 무선주파 및 전자기 간섭을 제거하기 위해 고안된 패널형태의 교환이 가능한 장치이다. 간섭의 제거는 프레임에 한정된 하니컴(벌집) 또는 루버 형태의 전기 전도성 물질로 만든 매개체가 방사된 전자기 에너지를 반사 및/또는 흡수함으로써 이루어지며, 전기 전도성 개스킷(또는 자체-개스킷 특징)을 갖는다. 이 개스킷은 캐비닛에 전기 접촉을 제공하며, 캐비닛 상에 설치 혹은 부착된다. 이 장치는 낙수를 방지 설계 특징을 포함할 수 있다. 전도된 전자기 에너지를 제거하거나 억제하기 위해 캐패시터, 저항기 및 코일 구성품을 사용하는 전기적인 필터링 장치는 제외한다. “차폐장치, 시험용”은 제외한다.

A replaceable device in panel form designed to eliminate radio frequency and electromagnetic interference from the air passing through it. The elimination of interference is accomplished by reflection and/or absorption of radiated electromagnetic energy by media constructed of electrically conductive material, in honeycomb or louvered form confined in a frame, with electrically conductive gasketing (or self-gasketing feature) to provide electrical contact with the cabinet on which it is installed or mounted. It may be used in air ventilating or heating ducts, lighting aperture and the like. It may have a filter for dust protection. It may include a drip-proof design feature. Excludes:electrical filtering devices which employ capacitor, resistor and coil components to eliminate or suppress conducted electromagnetic energy. Excludes:SHIELD,TEST.
