기본 화합물과 가속제로 구성된 마감 피복재료. 기본 화합물은 에피콜로로 히드린의 반응 생성물인 에폭시 수지로 되어있다. 가속제로는 통상 아미드중합체, 아민중합체 또는 기타 유사물질이 쓰인다. 유색 에폭시 마감일을 할때 통상 기본 화합물에만 색소 동시에 착색할때도 있다. 기본 화합물과가 속제에 동시에 착색할때도 있다.기본 화합물과 가속제와는 별도로 색소가 공급되는 경우도 있다.

A finish coat material composed of a base compound and an accelerator. The base material consists of an epoxy resin which is a reaction product of epichlorohydrin. The activator is normally a polyamide, polyamine, or similar compound. Usually, for colored epoxy finishes, only the base material contains pigment or dye, but both base and activator may be colored. The material may also be furnished with pigment separate from both base compound and accelerator.
