회전 또는 선형운동에 의해 기계적으로 두개의 다른 위치로 작동될수 있는 스텝을 가진밸브이다. 첫째 위치에서는 밸브 원판의 한쪽은 시이트에 대해 밸브를 통하여 한방향으로 유체의 흐름을 허용하도록 원판운동을 허용하도록 위치된다.두 번째 위치에서는 밸브를 통하여 양쪽 방향으로 유체의 흐름을 허용하도록 밸브원판이 시이트로부터 들어 올려진다. 이 밸브 원판은 스프링 장치가 되어 있기도 한다. 참조:"VALVE,STOP-CHECK","VALVE,STOP-LIFT-CHECK"

A valve with a stem that may be mechanically actuated to two different positions by rotary or linear motion. In the first position, one side of the valve disk is located against the seat permitting movement of the disk in a manner that will allow a flow of fluid in one direction through the valve. In the second position, the valve disk is lifted from the seat to allow a flow of fluid in either direction through the valve. The valve disk may be spring loaded.
