머리가 있거나 혹은 머리가 없는 원통형의 나사산이 있는 물건으로서, 나사산이 없는 부분이나 또는 모든 부분은 나사산이 있는 부분의 최대 주직경 보다 적거나 혹은 같도록 하나의 직경으로 만들어져야 한다. 머리가 없는 것은 외부나 내부에 비틀어 추출가능한 모양으로 되어 있거나, 쉽게 돌릴수 있게 되어 있어야 한다. 뽑는 기계에 사용할때는 돌려서 압력을 가하도록 만들어져 있다.

A cylindrical, threaded item which may be headed or headless. It may include a threadless portion. All or part of the unthreaded portion(s) must be of a single diameter equal to or smaller than the maximum major diameter of the threaded portion(s). Headless items must have an external or internal wrenching feature or have a provision to facilitate turning. The item must be designed to exert pressure by screwing motion when used with a mechanical puller.
