항상 원형으로된 고체 금속 품목으로 플랜지를 한쪽 끝에가지기도 하고 갖지 않기도 한다. 그것은 구멍의 내부직경을 줄이기 위하여 구멍에 삽입하도록 설계되고 그리고 둘러싼 물체구조를 응력, 변형 또는 진동 그리고 이상 모두로 인한 손실 을 방지하기 위하여 설계되었다. 그러나 구멍을 통하지 않고 축에 평행하다. 다음에 드릴작업을 위하여 제작된 것이다.
