위로 쥐거나 아래로 쥐기 위한 손잡이와 뽀죽한 끝을 갖고 칼날이 선강철품목이다. 보통 야전에서 손무기로 사용되거나 카빈이나,소총등의 총구에 부착하여 대검으로 사용하기 위해 만들어졌다. 칼날은 손잡이의 2배보다 작으며 보통 피가 흐르도록 파진홈을 갖지 않는다. 참조:BAYONET

An edged steel item with a tapered point and a formed handle for overhand or underhand gripping. It is designed for use as a hand weapon, for general purpose use in the field, or as a bayonet when attached to the muzzle end of a carbine, rifle, or the like. The blade is less than twice the length of the handle and it is usually without a blood groove. See also BAYONET.
