해체할 필요없이 제작,부식,흠,침식을 위한 로켓모터나 유사품목들의 포강,내연기관 실린더벽,추진제 천공과 같은 품목들을 육안검사하는데 사용되는 관찰장치이다. 다양한 검사범위에 걸치도록 연장관이 있기도 하며,기본적으로 반사경이나 프리즘을 사용하는 직선관 망원경이다.

A viewing device used to visually inspect items such as cannon bores, internal combustion engine cylinder walls, propellant perforations of rocket motors, or similar items for defects of manufacture, corrosion, scars, erosion, and the like, without needing to disassemble the item(s). It may or may not have extension tubes to cover the various ranges of inspection. The item is usually a straight-tube telescope, but it could be flexible, using a mirror or prism on its end.
