관처럼 생긴 기다란 금속이며, 하부는 전체 길이의 1/3 정도를 잘라내어 각 모퉁이 마다에서 침대뼈대(BEDSTEAD)의 머리 및 발부분이 맞도록 되어있는 품목이다. 구멍이 뚫린 관윗부분은 둥근 구멍의 소켓모양이 되어 다음번의 침대 골조다리를 끼우게 되어 이중침대 장치가 된다.

A length of tubular metal, the lower part of which is cut away approximately one-third the length of the tube to permit slip fitting over the head and foot pieces of a BEDSTEAD at each corner. The hollow top sections of the tubes form sockets into which the feet of a second bedstead may be inserted to form a double-deck unit.
