An electrically operated machine which is designed to inspect motion picture film for detecting defects such as enlarged or torn sprocket holes, sprocket punches, weak splices, broken film, and automatically halts operation with the defective portion of the film in proper position to permit splicing. It does not include facilities for viewing or splicing the film. Excludes:EDITOR, MOTION PICTURE FILM; VIEWER, MOTION PICTURE FILM and VIEWING MACHINE, MOTION PICTURE.
