최소한 세계의 육지에 있는 송신기를 이용 하여 쌍곡선 항해술의 전자조직으로 부터 신호를 받는 수신기 수상함정과 항공기의 항해업을 위하여 주국은 우주공간으로 방사되는 펄스를 송신하고 종국들은 정확한 시 간차 회로를 통하여 전자기 위치를 나타낸 다. 송신기들은 자동으로 발생되며 항해도 가 요구되며,표시자료와 부수 항해도 사이 로 부터 해석에 의하여 이용 가능한 자료로밝혀 낸다.

A receiver for signals from an electronic system of hyperbolic navigation utilizing a minimum of three shore-based transmitters. The "master" station transmits a pulse, which is radiated into space, and also triggers through precise time delay circuits the "slave" stations, so as to produce electromagnetic "fixes" for navagational use of surface vessels and aircraft. Transmitters are self-triggered, navagation charts are required, and usable data is developed by interpolation between display data and associated charts.
