갖가지 형상의 금속장치이며, 커다란 원형 진입구를 가지고 있다. 작동 안할때는 스프링장치에 의해 버섯꼴 날름쇠(포핏)밸브가 구멍을 막아주게 되어 있다. 연료공급 놋줄이나 기타 유사한 압력식 연료분사 장치에 의해밸브가 눌려지면, 연료저장탱크, 항공기 연료 또는 유도탄 연료공급을 신속히 가능하게 해준다.

A metallic adapter of variable configuration having a circular ingress orifice located in the greatest dimension. When inoperative, the orifice is sealed by a poppet valve held in position by a mechanical spring. It permits rapid replenishment of fuel storage tanks, or fueling of an aircraft or guided missile when the valve is depressed by the fueling nozzle or by another similar pressure fuel dispensing device.
