계란모양의 돌쩌귀 달린 목침이며,밧줄(섬유제로우프)을 감싸고 미끄러져 목침속으로 나있는 구멍으로 밧줄이 오르 내린다. 두개의 지렛대형 절단날이 작동하는데 각 지렛대 눈에 연결된 고삐줄에서 힘을 내준다. 또한 목침구멍에 연결된 밧줄도 있으며, 활차선에 부착되어 굵은 밧줄과 함께 절단기를 끌어드리는 일은 한다.
품명정의(영문)
An oval shaped, hinged wooden block constructed to encircle and slide along a hawser (fiber rope) through a hole running through the block from end to end. It has two lever type cutting blades operated by force exerted in a bridle line attached to the eyes of each lever. Also equipped with becket spliced to holes in the block and attached to whipline for hauling along hawser and recovery of cutter.
