가죽운반 띠끈이 달린 상자용기로 비탑재식 개폐회로 시진의를 넣는데 쓰인다. 외부 단자가 있어서 미터 자체를 전기회로에 연결시키며, 돌쩌귀달린 뚜껑 또는 떼어낼 수 있는 뚜껑을 달고 있다. 이 뚜껑은 문자판을 판독할 수 있게된 창유리를 보호한다. 한 형식은 짐발(시진의를 수평으로 유지하는 십자형장치)에 넣게 되어 계전기, 전기불꽃 방지회로 등등으로 구성되어 있다. 다른 형식은 거품고무 뭉치에 넣은 것으로 철제 자석, 방습 구조가 되어 있으나 기타 부속품을 넣을 자리가 없다.

A case with a leather carrying strap, designed for mounting an unmounted CHRONOMETER, MAKE-BREAK CIRCUIT. It is provided with outside terminals for connecting the instrument to an electrical circuit. It includes a hinged or removable lid to protect the window through which the dial is read. One type, designed to mount the instrument in gimbals, consists of a hardwood box with bottom compartment for housing batteries, relay and spark suppressor circuit. The other type, designed to mount the instrument in foam rubber pads, is of ferrous magnetic metal moistproof construction, but without space for accessories.
