세부분으로 구성된 견고한 목재상자이다. 바닥부분은 시진의를 고정하는 두 선회축이 붙어 있는 선회축 금속 고리와 짐발을 움직이지 못하게 하기 위한 자물쇠를 포함하고 중간부분은 다이얼을 읽기 위한 유리를 포함하며 윗부분은 뚜껑이다. 세부분은 스프링 받이로 같이 물려있다 . 이 상자는 레벨에서 선회축 장치에 맞춘 시진의를 상자의 이동이나 기울임으로부터 다이얼"업"위치로 유지할라고 한다. 선적을 위한 상자로는 사용지 않는다. 제외:CASE(2),MAKE-BREAK CIRCUIT CHRONOMETER

A hardwood case consisting of three sections. The bottom section includes a pivoted metal ring to which are affixed two pivots for retaining a chronometer and a lock for immobilizing the gimbals; the middle section contains a window for reading; the top section is a lid. The three sections snap together with spring catches. This case is intended to keep a chronometer fitted with pivot mountings in a level, dial-up position if the case is shifted or tipped. It is never used as a case for shipping. Excludes:CASE (2), MAKE-BREAK CIRCUIT CHRONOMETER.
