A device having hub and/or spigot ends. It is used in drain of soil systems to prevent sewer gas from backing up beyond desired point by forming a water seal in the line. This is accomplished by its peculiar shape which is usually in the form of a letter P or S. It may have side inlet and/or cleanout.
