A nonhygroscopic, granular powder composed of sodium metasilicate, sodium trisilicate (soluable), and detergent, free from acid soap, rosin, starch, sodium phosphate abrasives, gritty material, or inert fillers. It is used for cleaning such metals as aluminum or magnesium prior to the application of organic or nonorganic surface coatings. The cleaner produces no lustre but leaves a chemically clean surface.
