한쪽 끝이 열려 있는 금속용기로 기밀밀폐를 위하여 열린 쪽 끝에 납땜을 하거나 주름을 잡아 부착해 놓기 위하여 고안된 분리된 끝 조각이 붙어 있다. 밀폐된 깡통은 뚜껑을 찔러서 뚜껑 가장자리 부근을 자르므로서 혹은 키로서 금속 조각을 제거함으로써 열려진다.

A metal container having one end open; provided with separate end piece designed for attachment by soldering or crimping to the open end, to effect an airtight seal. Opening of the closed can is effected by piercing the top, cutting around top edge, or by removing a strip of metal with a key.
