트럭의 샤시나 차체에 탑재되어 트럭의 동력이나 집적엔진에 의해 구동되는 동력구동형 기계.수동이나 기계로 내려 눌려지는 토지 오거용 비트에 회전운동을 주어 토지에 구멍을 뚫도록 만들어진 기계. 각(수직적)을 가진 구멍을 뚫도록 만들어진다. 구멍을 뚫는 것과 흙을 제거하는 능력을 동시에 갖지 못한다.

A power operated machine designed to be mounted on the body or chassis of a truck and driven by the truck power take-off or an integral engine. The machine is designed to bore holes in the earth by imparting rotary motion to an earth auger bit which is forced downward either manually or mechanically. It may be designed to bore holes at an angle (other than vertical). It is not capable of boring and removing the earth simultaneously.
