An item specifically designed to test and/or monitor an electrical circuit by indicating a voltage level by means such as lamps, light emitting diodes and/or a digital display. It may have additional functions such as intensity test, polarity indication, phase and neutral identification, continuity test, and the like. Examples of conditions being indicated are power on, no power, reversed polarity, open ground, open neutral, alternating current and/or direct current.
