단단한 고무로 만든 구형 플러그로 가운데 에 구멍이 뚫려져 있어 그 구멍에 나사산이 파여진 자루가 삽입된다. 한개의 나비너트 ,두개의 와셔 및 자루가 압력을 기하는데 사용되며 보올을 확대함으로서 방열기의 입구 및 출구열림을 막는다. 방열기 등의 중 심부 또는 탱크에서의 새는 곳을 찾아내는 데 사용된다.

A cylindrical or ball-shaped item fabricated of solid rubber, having a hole running through its center through which a threaded stem is inserted. A wing nut, two washers and the stem are supplied to apply pressure, thereby expanding the ball and plugging up inlet and outlet opening in radiators. It is used to locate leaks in the core or tank of a radiator and the like.
