A plumbing fixture, of rectangular flat bottom construction, having one or more compartments of the same size with the depth of each compartment exceeding 9 inches (228.6 millimeters). It is not equipped with integral drainboards. Each compartment is provided with a drain opening which does not exceed 2 inches (50.8 millimeters) in diameter. It is designed to be used in conjunction with a source of running water, usually hot and cold, with the drain openings connected to permanent drainage facilities for the purpose of washing articles of clothing, linens, and other fabrics.
